Our worldwide sales network for plastics is, of course, also used to assist European companies in their search for foreign markets. In addition to the traditional import and distribution of industrial raw materials from Japan and our subsidiary companies' production sites in Europe, we also import high-technology products from Japan, e.g. electrotechnical components, communication and wafer technology as well as LCDs.

Besides, we are involved in pioneering plastics in the form of granulates, foils and fibres as well as plastics additives, which are used for several areas of applications. Mitsui deemed it necessary to invest in these promising areas in view of the European Single Market.

Mitsui is also very active in the Renewable Energy sector. In the Solar PV business Mitsui almost covers the whole value chain from silicone, encapsulating films, back sheets, junction boxes and other PV-related raw components to complete turn key solar installations and power plants.

Due to our long and widespread market experience and our global network, we are able to offer solar photovoltaic modules and almost all essential materials and components from various manufacturers for the production of thin-film and crystalline solar PV-modules.

In the wind turbine business, Mitsui & Co. Europe Plc holds equity in the wind blade manufacturing company Euros Entwicklungsgesellschaft für Windkraftanlagen mbH in Berlin. Euros’ capabilities spread from the offering of a standard blade to individual engineering concepts, design of wind blades to manufacturing and licensing.
